For us a self-drive safari is deemed successful knowing we have thoroughly scrutinised all the details, including your accommodations, vehicles, the route chosen, and the people you meet along the way. For each itinerary we draw on our own extensive local knowledge to provide our guests with East Africa’s most rewarding travel experiences.
Driver guides (11)
* Drive Into The Wild’s escorted self-drive safaris are led by our founders, Richard and Kristin. Our Driver Guides can also drive your vehicle if required.
* Our un-escorted self-drive safaris are led by you and are supported remotely by our offices. We plan an itinerary especially for you, book all accommodations and create a mapped out route for you to follow.
Tour leaders (6)
Drive Into the Wild’s Tour Leaders are experts in their particular field. Upon request, they will gladly join one of our self-drive safaris to provide a unique insight into specific areas of interest, such as the work of renowned mountain gorilla primatologist Dian Fossey, specialist topics including endangered mountain gorilla conservation, or Big Five conservation initiatives.
